Rev. Sandra Turnbull

The daughter of Assembly of God missionaries, Sandra Turnbull grew up on the front row pew and can’t remember a time when she was not involved in ministry. Born in the Dominican Republic, Sandra lived most of her young life in Central and South America with her parents and siblings.
After receiving the call to ministry, Sandra attended Bible School and seminary. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri and a Masters Degree in Religious Studies from the School of Theology in Claremont, California. However, it was while serving with Youth With A Mission in Amsterdam, Holland that Sandra fell in love with her life partner of 25 years, Janet Robertson. This precipitated a new life direction. Together they affiliated with the Metropolitan Community Churches and in 1986 founded Encounter Missions International, a missions training and sending ministry. In 1996 Sandra was ordained into full time ministry and began pastoring the Metropolitan Community Church Long Beach.

By 2004 God led Rev. Sandra to birth a new work in Glory Tabernacle Christian Center which is known for its contemporary worship, the manifest presence of God, and dynamic preaching of God’s word. It is also home to Encounter Missions International, an organization instrumental in planting three sister churches in Taiwan, specifically in the cities of Kaohsiung, Tainan and Taipei. The church is also the sending church for missionaries in Taiwan and South Africa as well as home for the two year Bible and ministry training school called the ACTS Institute. Glory Tabernacle Christian Center is also host to the annual All Nations Gathering- a conference for people of all nations who desire to see a revival of God’s Spirit resulting in souls being saved and inclusive churches being planted in all continents.

As the pastor of Glory Tabernacle Christian Center, Rev. Sandra Turnbull has established a bridge building ministry to other pastors, leaders, ministries and organizations.
Her passion is:

"to be on the forefront of the outpouring of God’s glory in this generation and to see the Church rise up to become the inclusive Church it is called to be"

Rev. Sandra travels throughout the United States and in various nations preaching, teaching and releasing revival. Both Rev. Sandra and Janet enjoy living in Long Beach, California and traveling throughout the nations.
